Why Have a Power Flush Carried Out?
We’re going to be talking about power flushing in this post and how you can save money on your heating bills. Energy companies are raising their prices this winter, and whatever the reasons behind it, anything that can help us save money has to be a good thing.
A power flush is a really clever way of helping you to save money. But for those of you who have no idea what it is, let us explain.
What is it and how does it help?
A power flush provides a strong flushing action that removes harmful sludge and limescale that coats the inside of your pipes and radiators, and prevents the flow of water around your heating system. This reduction in flow can force your boiler into working much harder, and leaves you with higher heating bills.
If you have a power flush of your heating system, a powerful pressurised mixture of chemicals and water will be used to remove any build up of sludge and limescale we’ve been talking about. It’s a quick, convenient method, but also an extremely effective one too.
In most instances, a power flush can be done in one day, although if it’s a commercial property, it could take a little longer because of the complexity and size of the system.
When is a Power Flush Needed?
You will know if your heating system is in need of a power flush when you start getting brown water in the system and hear loud noises coming from it when you’re switching it on. You’ll also notice cold spots on the radiators where they simply won’t heat up. You’ll soon notice the difference once you’ve had your power flush because your radiators will be radically altered and be far more efficient. There’ll be better circulation, and your energy bills should come down.
